The benefits of running an eco-friendly fleet
With the current concerns about climate change and global warming, more and more people are becoming conscious of their impact on the planet. Many businesses are now choosing to look at environmentally friendly options and if you have a fleet of vehicles, running an eco-friendly fleet can be beneficial. Listed below are several benefits of running an eco-friendly fleet.
It improves the image of your company
As previously stated, more and more people are becoming conscious of their impact on the planet and there has been a lot of criticism recently of the environmental repercussions businesses are having on the planet. Lots of people are choosing to boycott companies that haven’t done anything to make their business more eco-friendly – by choosing to run an eco-friendly fleet, you will improve your image. This will ensure that customers won’t boycott your company and may even lead to more people wanting to shop with you, as cutting emissions can lead to increased brand loyalty.
It helps the environment
One of the most obvious benefits of using an eco-friendly fleet is that you will be helping the environment. The climate crisis is getting worse and major steps are needed to try and change the worst effects from happening – by using an eco-friendly fleet you can do your bit to help the planet and will feel less guilt over this. The majority of harmful emissions are produced by businesses so it is important to reduce emissions as much as possible for this reason alone.
It can reduce costs
Making your fleet greener can often be cheaper for your business, giving another benefit to making your company more environmentally friendly. Green vehicles are generally more cost-effective than non-energy-efficient vehicles, for a number of reasons. Emissions taxes have been brought in in several cities and general vehicle tax (often known as road tax) is usually more expensive for older and less eco-friendly vehicles. Green automobiles tend to be newer, meaning that they will generally be more cost-effective as fewer repairs will be needed and operating costs are usually lower as well. Several grants are also available from the government, which could reduce the cost of changing your fleet over to more eco-friendly options.
Using AdBlue Can Help You Run an Eco-friendly Fleet
AdBlue is a colourless diesel exhaust fluid, consisting of a non-toxic mixture of urea and de-ionised water. AdBlue is only applicable to diesel engines and can help to reduce emissions and make your fleet more eco-friendly – when AdBlue is added to your car, small amounts of the product are injected into the flow of exhaust gases. At high temperatures, the urea solution turns to carbon dioxide and ammonia – the ammonia reacts with the harmful nitrogen oxide present inside the car engine and turns it into harmless nitrogen and water, meaning the emissions produced are much less harmful than if AdBlue were not used.
